Continuing the ‘North and South’ theme I picked up yesterday as a nod to the tremendously exciting Liars’ League Leeds… here’s one of the most northern bits of film you will ever see. It features three fundamental pillars of northern culture: brass bands, mining and the late Pete Postlethwaite. Also, swearing.
The film is, of course, Mark Herman’s Brassed Off (1996).
Southerners: why not respond to this post by linking to a cultural icon of your own? Eric Bristow, possibly. Or Danny Dyer.
